Personally I lost the idea of the definition of stoner rock. I remember that, once, it was the definition that was created by Sleep and they said that they were playing heavy metal for drug addicted people, or stoners, and that's where the word came from. But actually the so called stoner rock bands are different one from the other, at the beginning. I mean Sleep were different from Kyuss let's say..., were different from Snail, another obscure band from that period... and then there are other bands that are not considered stoner rock but they have affinities with the kind of music I think about Melvins or Motorspycho they are totally different bands again... but sometimes maybe we say that then became like a fashion. So when things become fashion is different, you lose something... but actually I am not against with any kind of definition.
