Graças à primeira arte, muitos músicos visitam países para apresentar os seus discos. Nos dias de hoje é difícil afirmar o que é novidade ou não, mas também não é isso que interessa, ou não é só isso... Vai além desse pormenor, tem mais a ver com o efeito que acalenta o nosso espírito, seja de uma forma nostálgica ou frenética. Magon é originário da cidade que nunca dorme do médio oriente, a cidade branca onde predominam edifícios de arquitectura Bauhaus, Tel Aviv, mas vive em Paris há alguns anos.
Já fez parte do duo pop Charlotte and Magon e agora lança-se na estrada a solo acompanhado pelo seu álbum que estreou no Outono do ano passado, editado pela December Square, intitulado Out in the Dark. O disco remete para um cenário boémio e urbano, escuta-se enquanto se deambula à noite pela cidade na altura em que os funcionários públicos dormem. Magon traz o revivalismo rock'n'roll setentista e o garage anos noventa, misturado com pop-rock psicadélico, com um certo toque naïf de um adolescente energético, ávido por relacionamentos e novas aventuras. Out in the Dark soma episódios de histórias de amor mais ou menos falhadas e cenários improváveis, lembrando bandas como Pixies, Sonic Youth e Kurt Vile num décor Bufallo '66, realizado por Vincent Gallo.
Magon preparara-se para pisar os palcos de Portugal a partir do dia 20, uma digressão que se iniciaria em Lisboa e terminaria na cidade onde dizem ter nascido Portugal, mas por razões óbvias teve que ser adiada. - O Mar da Galileia, também conhecido por Kinneret. Local onde tive a minha primeira trip em ácido. :)
- Yehuda: é uma pequena aldeia relativamente pobre, onde a minha mãe cresceu. Não é o local mais belo para visitar (para dizer no mínimo), mas, para quem quiser encontrar autêntica e boa saborosa comida iraquiana ou curda, é o lugar ideal para ir.
- Teder, Tel-Aviv: um bom local para a diversão, composto por pequenos bares, clubes e restaurantes com uma tonelada de eventos que acontecem todas as noites, uma vez toquei lá.
- O deserto do Negev: Durante o meu serviço militar obrigatório andei pelo deserto do Negev, e recentemente "tripei" com cogumelos lá também.
- Peninsula do Sinai: Não é em Israel, mas do outro lado da fronteira, no Egipto. Todas as vezes que vou visitar a minha família, eu tento ir ao Sinai no percurso, é o meu lugar preferido na terra.

The first art makes several musicians travel to new countries to present their records. Nowadays, it is complex to say what is news and what isn’t and maybe that’s not what matters. It goes beyond that, it’s a matter of what can kindle our soul be it in a nostalgic or frenetic way. Magon is from the middle east city that never sleeps, the white city where there is an abundance of Bauhaus’s inspired buildings, Tel Aviv, but he lives in Paris for quite some years.
He was part of the pop duo Charlotte and Magon and now is working solo, accompanied by this latest album that was released last autumn and is called Out in the Dark. The record takes us back to a bohemian and urban scenario and it’s better listened at night when wandering around the city while all the public servants are asleep.
Magon brings back the 70’s inspired rock’n’roll, the 90’s garage mixed with psychedelic pop-rock and a touch of naivety like an energic adolescent hungry for relationships and new adventures. Out in the Dark compiles episodes of somewhat failed love stories and unlikely scenarios, reminding us of bands like Pixies, Sonic Youth and Kurt Vile in a Buffalo’66 setting, directed by Vincent Gallo.
Starting at the 20th, Magon had prepared to step unto Portugal’s stages, a tour that was about to begin in Lisbon and would end in the city where most say Portugal was founded, but due to obvious reasons the tour has been postponed. We asked Magon about his favorite 5 books, 5 records, 5 books, 5 places to visit in Israel, and even if we cannot travel today, we hope it will be possible in the near future.

- The Sea of Galilee (aka Kinneret): Where I did my first acid trip :)
- Or Yehuda: It's a small and relatively poor town, where my mother grew up. It's not the most beautiful city you'll ever see (to say the least), but if you want to get some good authentic Iraki or Kurdish food, it's the place to go to.
- Teder, Tel-Aviv: a cool place to hang out in, it's comprised of many small little bars clubs and restaurants with a shit-ton of events going on every night, I played there once too.
- The Negev Desert: I both navigated it as part of my mandatory military service, and recently also tripped on mushrooms there :)
- Sinai peninsula: It's not in Israel, but just across the border to Egypt. Every-time I go to visit my family, I'm trying to arrange a little trip to Sinai on the way, it's my favorite place on earth.
