Mutatis Mutandis é uma frase que em latim significa algo como “com as mudanças necessárias” e que preconiza a renovação, seja ela de ideias ou de costumes. Kevel é uma banda grega que se apresenta pesada, mas cambiante e dinâmica. Faz lembrar as texturas monolíticas de Meshuggah, ao mesmo tempo que deambula por sonoridades mais cósmicas, sem nunca abdicar do seu lado massivo e concreto. 

Kevel consegue conjugar em 6 temas longos e complexos as géneses de várias categorias do metal alternativo e/ou extremo, como o sludge, stoner e doom. As vocalizações são certeiras e encaixam bem nas melodias intrincadas e progressivas que não abdicam de uma dose saudável de bestialidade. A viagem é cósmica, mas nem por isso pacífica ou etérea. Atravessamos limiares extremos de emoções e estados, nunca estagnantes e sempre mutáveis. As líricas apelam a uma consciencialização cósmica, dilemas existenciais e como é absurda a nossa condição de terráqueo se nos dermos ao espaço para reflectir, não há egomania que resista à evidência que somos menos que pontos minúsculos na imensidão do universo. 

Kevel é um som introspectivamente combativo e belicoso com uma delicadeza existencialista nada aparente e que irá cativar os fãs do metal mais pesado.

Mutatis Mutandis is a latin phrase that means something like “with things changed that should be changed” and it welcomes renovation, be it of ideas or customs. Kevel is a band from Greece that is downright heavy, but also dynamic. It reminds us of the monolithic textures from bands like Meshuggah, while wandering through more cosmic sounds, without losing its massive and colossal roots.

Kevel can conjure within 6 long and complex themes the genesis of several metal subgenres like sludge, stoner and doom. The vocals are on the spot and fit beautifully in the intricate and progressive melodies that do not lose their bestial edge. The voyage is cosmical but never quite peaceful or ethereal. We go across extreme boundaries of emotions and moods, never stagnant and always changing. The lyrics appeal to a cosmic consciousness, existential dilemmas and how absurd can be our condition of simple earthlings and if we have the time to reflect there is no egomania that can resist the evidence that we are nothing more than miniscule dots in the immensity of the universe.

Kevel is a combative and bellicose introspective kind of sound with an existential sensibility that will captivate fans of heavy metal.
