O álbum longa-duração de estreia da banda de Leeds (UK) Cryptic Shift prova que é apaixonada pelo universo da ficção científica e pela criação de riffs tecnicamente complexos e imensamente melódicos. Visitations from Enceladus marca a diferença logo com o primeiro tema Moonbelt Immolator, colossal, técnico e melódico, uma longa metragem de 26 minutos onde há diversidade de atmosferas e sonoridades. Secções death/doom bastante atmosféricas interligam-se com riffing thrash de alta intensidade e solos de guitarra plenos de virtuosismo.
É difícil ficar indiferente à ferocidade e paixão dos outros três temas que tanto podem ser reminiscentes de death metal cósmico de uns Nocturnus, ou o progressivo de uns Gorguts mais cerebrais e complexos.

The debut LP from the Leed’s band (UK) Cryptic Shift proves that they are passionate about sci-fi and the creation of technically complex and extremely melodic riffs. Visitations from Enceladus marks the difference straight away with the first theme Moonbelt Immolator, colossal, technical and melodic, it’s a long theme clocking at 26 minutes where there is a huge diversity of atmospheres and sounds. Death and doom inspired passages intermingle with thrash riffs of high intensity and virtuous guitar solos.
It’s hard to remain indifferent to the ferocity and passion of the other 3 themes that may be somewhat reminiscent of the line of cosmic death metal by a band like Nocturnus, or the progressive phase of a more cerebral and complex Gorguts.
